What is llms.txt?
A plain text file at the root of a site, proposed at llmstxt.org, that gives language models a short summary of the site and a list of its most useful pages in Markdown.
Do ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google read llms.txt?
Unproven. None of the major engines has said it uses llms.txt to choose what to cite. It is cheap to add and does no harm, but it is the last fix to make, after crawler access and readable pages.
How does this generator build the file?
It reads your homepage for the name and description, then collects your key pages (pricing, comparisons, alternatives, FAQ), docs and guides from the homepage links and your sitemap, and writes them in the llmstxt.org format.
Where do I put llms.txt?
At the root of your domain, served as plain text: yourdomain.com/llms.txt.
What should I edit before publishing?
The summary line, so it says what the product does and who it is for in your words. Then the link labels: pages found in the sitemap are labelled from their URL, which is not always how you would name them.
What is llms-full.txt?
A companion file some sites publish with the full text of their key pages in one document. This tool writes llms.txt only.
Why did it say it could not read my homepage?
The generator does a plain fetch, like most AI crawlers. A site behind a login, a bot challenge or a JavaScript-only shell returns nothing to it, which is worth fixing for its own sake.
