Spotlight: Repwing — coaching that skips the call entirely

Daniel Okafor · Launch strategist·August 10, 2026

Discovery calls are where deals get won or quietly lost, and most sales teams only find out which one happened after the fact, on a recording nobody watches all the way through. Repwing is trying to fix that in the moment, not after it. It listens to the live call and sends the next question a rep should ask straight to their phone, while they're still talking to the prospect.

The pitch is narrow and that's the point: get every rep on the team to qualify leads the way your best rep does, consistently, without needing a sales manager to shadow every call.

The interesting decision here is what Repwing chose not to do. Every other AI sales tool wants to join your call as a visible participant, a little bot avatar sitting in the Zoom grid, transcribing everything and sometimes spooking prospects who don't love being recorded by software they've never heard of. Repwing works in the background and delivers its output to a second screen, the rep's phone, instead of the meeting itself. That's a real product decision, not just a UI choice. It means the prospect never sees anything unusual, the call feels normal, and the coaching becomes something the rep glances at rather than something the whole room has to perform around. For SMB and startup sales teams where deals often ride on trust built in a single call, keeping the meeting clean is not a small thing.

Who should try this: a startup or SMB sales team, probably five to thirty reps, where discovery call quality is inconsistent between your top performer and everyone else, and where a sales manager can't realistically listen live to every call. If your qualification process is more art than checklist right now, and closers keep learning it by osmosis instead of by system, this is squarely aimed at you.

Who should skip it: if your sales motion doesn't really involve live discovery calls (self-serve, PLG, mostly async or asynchronous demos), there's nothing here for you. Same if your team is one or two founders doing all the selling personally, since the value comes from standardizing behavior across a team, not from coaching a single person who already knows the pitch cold. And if your organization has a policy against tools that listen to live customer calls, or your prospects are in industries sensitive about that, you'll want to check how Repwing handles consent and recording before rolling it out, because the site doesn't spell that out yet.

On pricing: we don't have it. The site's copy is still light on specifics beyond the core mechanic, which is fine for launch day but means anyone evaluating this seriously will need to talk to them directly before they know if it fits their budget.

Where this goes next is my read, not their roadmap. The obvious extension is turning live coaching into a feedback loop: if Repwing knows which questions correlate with calls that actually close, it can start ranking its own suggestions by what wins deals for your specific team, not just prompting from a generic discovery script. The other natural move is manager-facing reporting, so a sales lead can see which reps are actually following the prompts and which ones are ignoring their phone the whole call. Neither of those exists yet as far as the public site shows, but the wedge they've picked, real-time and out-of-meeting, gives them a sensible base to build both on top of.
